AUTHOR of The Legend from Bruce Rock: The Wally Foreman Story, Glen Foreman, is scheduled to hold a signing event in the CBD this Friday afternoon, capping off am amazing week for the biography.
It was recently reported that The Legend from Bruce Rock had risen to be the top-selling biography in the country for Dymocks stores, off the back of the heartfelt support of Western Australians.
The title had also climbed to be the best-selling publication across all genres released by distributor Lightning Source.
Those results were followed recently by the Wally Foreman biography having reached the top-10 sellers across all genres in selected stores, including hitting No.4 at Dymocks Karrinyup.
Glen Foreman, author of the book and son of Wally Foreman, will be attending a signing event on Friday 1 September from 5-6pm at Boffins Books in the CBD ahead of Fathers’ Day and said the results were incredible.
“To the best of my knowledge, not a single retailer interstate is regularly stocking The Legend from Bruce Rock: The Wally Foreman Story,” he said.
“That means that these results – some of them nationally significant – are almost entirely off the back of Western Australians.
“That fact is very special to me, because it shows how much dad is still missed and how significant a place he still holds in the hearts of WA people.
“It also confirms something that all West Australians have always known: there’s something different and special about West Aussies, something that we’re proud of and something that those east of the Nullarbor don’t understand.”
The Legend from Bruce Rock: The Wally Foreman Story is written by Wally’s son, Glen, as a letter to Charlotte, who would have been the sports administrator and broadcaster’s first grandchild.
It is available from all good bookstores.
